Tuition & Policies

Tuition

  • Tuition is based on the annual tuition schedule which is sorted by length of lesson, mode of payment and calculated every August. Please contact Ms. Amy for further information.
  • Tuition can be broken up into annual, semi-annual, or monthly payments.
  • For your convenience, all monthly payments are set up using a monthly reoccurring credit card authorization and are scheduled to draft on the 5th of every month.
  • A late charge of $10 will be assessed for any payments made past the 10th of the month.
  • Tuition includes a scheduled 30/45/60-minute weekly piano lesson except for those closures listed on the calendar.
  • Please note that all holidays or other closures have already been deducted from the annual tuition
  • Please note that this is a commitment from August to May of each year.
  • In August there is a $35 materials fee charged once per season to help cover the cost of lesson books, theory books and recital literature.

Important Calendar Information

  • MBA’s calendar mirrors the Lake Elsinore Unified School District (LEUSD) calendar.
  • Each season will begin in August and end in May.
  • The months of June and July the studio will be closed.
  • MBA will be closed during the LEUSD Thanksgiving break, 3-week Winter Break and Spring Break which is subject to change each year as the calendar changes.
  • MBA will notify you at the beginning of each season with the expected closures.

Recitals

  • MBA is a performance-based studio.  Part of our curriculum is to teach students how to be a well-rounded performer.  All MBA students are invited and expected to participate in the 2 recitals that are held each season.
  • 2 Recitals: Christmas Recital is held on the first Saturday in December every year and the Spring Recital date varies depending on the venue availability.  This is a critical part of being a performer and gives students a skill they will take with them into the rest of their lives.
  • Mandatory Rehearsals are held the Friday night before each recital.  If a student does not attend rehearsal they will NOT perform in the recital.  It is a privilege to be able to have a rehearsal and it is a huge stress reliever for our performers. Please plan accordingly.
  • Recital fees are $30 per student due the month before each show.  This is in lieu of going through the trouble of selling tickets.  The recital fee for the December show will be due November 1st and the recital fee for the May show will be due April 1st.  For those that pay the full season upfront or quarterly, this may be combined with that.

Parent/Siblings in waiting room

  • MBA welcomes parents to stay and sit in the waiting room during the lesson as long as they are a silent listener.  It is very important that each student be allowed to stay focused as 30 minutes goes by very quickly.
  • In addition, this is my opportunity to establish proper studio etiquette and to connect with your student.  It also allows me to stay on task without losing my train of thought.
  • Please refrain from interjecting into our lesson or you may be asked to wait outside.
  • Please do not bring other children into the waiting room as it is very distracting to your student.
  • If you choose to sit in the waiting room please be a quiet listener.
  • If a sibling is having a tough day then please take them outside to pass the time until your student is done.
  • Please note that the last 5 minutes of the lesson are open for you to come in and listen, ask questions or address concerns.  This applies to all parents whether you stay in the waiting room or not.

Cancellation or Extended Leave of Absence

  • MBA requires 30 days advanced written notice if you need to remove your student during the current season.
  • Once removed that position cannot be guaranteed and will not be guaranteed in the new season.
  • If your student needs a leave of absence, please speak with MBA immediately.  MBA reserves the right to grant a leave of absence on a case by case exception.
  • If your student is granted a leave of absence, a deposit of one month’s tuition will be required to hold their position.  When your student returns, the deposit will be applied to the next month’s tuition.
  • If your student does not return then you will forfeit this deposit.  No makeup lessons will be granted and no refunds will be given.
