My name is Amy Zarn and I am the founder of The Music Box Academy of Piano. I am a pianist, a teacher and a composer. I began my musical journey at the young age of 4 years old. I grew up singing, dancing, playing the piano, the french-horn and dabbling in musical theater. My constant companion has always been the piano.
Over the years I have been privileged to have several successful careers and businesses but none have been as rewarding as teaching people how to find their inner musician. The joy that is experienced on the piano bench is the best experience I’ve had aside from being a mother. It is never dull. It is always an adventure and one that I am incredibly grateful for every day.
My education and background are broad with skills in music theory, music performance, finance, organizational leadership, sales and psychology. I have pulled from all of these resources to develop and pursue the dream that is now The Music Box Academy of Piano. It is my goal to teach each student to read music well enough so that one day they will be able to play any piece of music they desire. I am invested in each of my students and passionate about helping them achieve their goals.
When I am not working, I can be found cheering on my children whether it be at my son’s water polo game or my daughter’s newest musical theater production. My husband and I have been together for 27 years. Our family enjoys traveling, camping, off-roading, water sports, hiking, biking and just spending time together. We are blessed to live in a state where everything is an hour away from mountains to the sea.
